Your support can mean that scientific investigators and doctors have much-needed new facilities in which to work, which has immediate consequences in the quality of treatments that patients receive. Your financial support will move forward important research developments and new biomedical students can study under some of the most qualified HIV groups in Europe.

What are some of the greatest fund-raising challenges for irsiCaixa?
The irsiCaixa Foundation opens a new research facility by the end of this year 2001. This laboratory will be equipped with an especial biosafety system. It will be used to investigate with big stocks of "live" virus as well as antiretroviral-resistant HIV strains.

IrsiCaixa seeks gifts to help fund the cost of this new expansion.
The donation of small equipment is another great way to support this expansion. As irsiCaixa grows, more equipment is required to support the work of new researchers and students. Laboratory equipment (centrifuges, pipettes, PCR machines) and other equipment (computers, printers) will be welcome. IrsiCaixa is also very grateful for support of research, special programs, projects, and student grants.
